Janet Lyn Peters, 64, of Festus died March 31, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Peters was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Festus. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, watching cooking and remodeling shows and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Born July 27, 1953, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Lynwood and Sara Govero.
She is survived by her husband: Charles William Peters; a son: Scott (Kimberly) Peters of Springfield; a daughter: Connie (Matthew) Nash of Festus; two sisters: Sharon (Roger) Morris and Janice (Steve) Roberge, both of Festus; and four grandchildren: Austin and Josh Peters and Dylan and Cassie Nash.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Michael Hayes.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, at First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Charles McLain. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Festus Building Fund, 107 N. Truman Blvd, Crystal City, 63019. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
