James Raymond “Jim” Robinson, 87, of Festus died Oct. 16, 2019, at the de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Robinson was a Festus High School graduate who served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady Church in Festus and the Knights of Columbus Council 1230. He worked as a computer systems analyst for IBM from 1956 until his retirement in 1987, and owned/operated Robinson Electric. Born Dec. 18, 1931, in Festus, he was the son of the late Frances Ellen (Wilson) and Samuel P. Robinson.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley Ann (Abernathy) Robinson; a daughter: Kathy (Dan) Hoehn of Excelsior Springs; a brother: Joseph H. (Gloria) Robinson of Festus; two grandchildren: Ryan (Kiri) Arnold of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kristina (Jake) Meyer of West Point, Miss.; three great-granddaughters: Izzy Arnold, Cora Arnold and Reese Meyer; and numerous family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Our Lady Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Festus R-6 School District’s Student Need Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
