James M. Anderson, 84, of De Soto died May 18, 2018, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mr. Anderson was a retired maintenance foreman at St. Joseph Lead Co. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a pastor for the Festus-Crystal City Elks and delivered for the Meals on Wheels in De Soto. In addition to being a member of the Elks, he also was a member of the First United Methodist Church of De Soto and Herculaneum Masonic Lodge No. 338. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Born May 18, 2018, in Bloomsdale, he was the son of the late Ethel (Lalumondier) and Harry M. Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Norma S. Anderson.
He is survived by two sons: Joseph (Lynda) Anderson of Herculaneum and Duane (Sherry) Anderson of Sikeston; a daughter: Linda Freund of St. Peters; a brother: Douglas Anderson of Bonne Terre; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Bruce and David Anderson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, May 25, at Mahn De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main St., followed immediately by funeral services officiated by the Rev. Stefenie Rustige. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 13227 Hwy. E, De Soto MO 63020, or to the First United Methodist Church, 200 Boyd St., De Soto MO 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
