Roesch, James

James Aloysius “Jim” Roesch, 86, of Festus died Dec. 24, 2016, at his home. Mr. Roesch was a retired glassworker for PPG Industries and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. A Korean War veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a member of  VFW Post 3777, American Legion Post 253, Elks Lodge 1721, and the Festus-Crystal City Conservation Club. Born May 6, 1930, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Herbert and Helen (Gross) Roesch.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Ann (Smith) Roesch; three daughters: Rebecca “Becky” Noce of St. Louis, Diane (Mike) Cooper of Bloomsdale and Brenda (Pat) Linderer of Festus; a son: Steven (Lauren) Roesch of Festus; a son-in-law: Paul Butler of Columbia, Ill.; two sisters: Sandra (Duane) De Clue of Crystal City and Florence (Charles) Bley of Festus; three brothers: Raymond (Judy) Roesch of Festus, Leroy Roesch of Otto and Ron (Debbie) Roesch of Madison, Ala.; a sister-in-law: Patricia Roesch of Imperial; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Sharon Butler; and a brother: Earl Roesch Sr.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, officiated by Father Clark Maes. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cemetery Maintenance Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
