Helen “Ruth” Hagen, 100, of Crystal City died Oct. 13, 2017, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City. Mrs. Hagen was an elementary school teacher at the Moss Hollow School in Barnhart and a member of PEO chapter FR. She was born Oct. 5, 1917, in Hopewell, the daughter of the late Rebecca Anne (Byington) and William Alfred Naucke Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas George Hagen.
She is survived by a daughter: Patricia Ann “Trish” Hagen of Gladstone; a daughter-in-law: Jamy Hagen of Kanehoe, Hawaii; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: George Thomas “Tom” Hagen; and a daughter: Susan Jeanne Scott.
Visitation is at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. Burial will follow at 1 pm. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Crystal City Public Library. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
