Harry Edward Ramey, 81, of Festus died May 2, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield. Mr. Ramey was a retired police dispatcher, having spent 25 years with the Crystal City Police Department. He also was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. Born Dec. 1, 1939, in Festus, he was the son of the late Mary Goldie (White) and Leon Alfred Ramey. He was preceded in death by his wife: Janet M. (Smith) Ramey.
He is survived by two sons: Donald (Kathy) Ramey of St. Peters and Adam (Amber) Ramey of Festus; a daughter: Peggy (Andrew) Wright of De Soto; 11 grandchildren: Eric Ramey, Matthew (Tabitha) Ramey, Leigha Ramey, Kirsten (Clayton) Gordon, Caleb Ramey, Corey Wright, Alexander Wright, Miranda (fiance’ Levi Gilmer) West, Samantha (Kilian) Frank, Kayla (Calvin) Bryant and Zaceary Stanfill; and 18 great-grandchildren: Brooke Ramey, Cameron Ramey, Hayley Sosby, Ayden Gordon, Braylen Gordon, Madilynn Ramey, Evelyn Frank, Gabriella Frank, Kilian Frank Jr., Zaceary Stanfill Jr., Kevlyn Bryant, Calvin Bryant Jr., Shelly Bryant, Saniyah Bryant, Skyler Ramey, Ryleigh Ramey, Kayda Ramey, and Aidin Ramey.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Claire I. Mayes; and a great-grandson: Ryan Klausner.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
