Gregory James Gau, 63, of Hillsboro died Aug. 30, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Gau was a 1976 graduate of Herculaneum High School and was retired from Unimen. He loved listening to music, watching wrestling and old TV programs and playing the lottery. Born Dec. 22, 1957, in Mineral Point, he was the son of Rita Ann (Coffman) Gau of Hillsboro and the late Kenneth Irvin Gau.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers: Keith (Denetta) Gau of Hillsboro, Joseph (Jill) Gau of St. Louis County and Wayne Gau of Hillsboro; a sister: Roxane (Henry) Howard of Pevely; his nieces and nephews: Bradley (friend Heather) Gau of Pevely, Brittany (friend Brian) Gau of Festus, Sydney Gau of St. Louis County, Joseph Gau Jr. of St. Louis County, James (Rachel) howard of De Soto, Jennifer (Shane) Cox of Herculaneum and Jonathon (Nicole)Howard of Hillsboro; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Jeffrey Lynn Gau.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
