Glatt, Grant

Grant Glatt, 81, of Cedar Hill died March 22, 2022, in Cedar Hill. Mr. Glatt, known affectionately as “General Grant” or “G.G.” was an active member of the community. He was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church, where he held the roles of elder, treasurer, president and many other titles. He also served as treasurer of Hope Lutheran in High Ridge. He planted a vast number of trees and was a member of the Walnut Council of Missouri and named National Grafter of the Year.He served on the board of directors for United Mutual Insurance and for Teens Encounter Christ. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially for crappie in the spring. He loved his dog, Sparky, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Born Oct. 14, 1940, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Oreal and Irma (Kohler) Glatt.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce (Gonz) Glatt; a son: Lynn Clayton (Victoria) Glatt; two grandchildren: Hadden (Holly) and Olivia (Trevor); three great-grandchildren: Blake, Brady and Jackson; and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister: Grace Powell.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, at Chapel Hill Mortuary. 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2308 Gravois Road, in High Ridge. Burial is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or to Teens Encounter Christ.  Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
