Geneva O. Argent, 80, of De Soto died Dec. 20, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Argent was a homemaker. Born Feb. 21, 1939, in Tuckerman, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Velva (Brown) Green and Ruben Luther Goatcher.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Dean Argent.
She is survived by a son: Andrew Kelly Argent of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter-in-law: Teresa Argent of Salisbury; three grandchildren: Christopher (Meghan) Argent, Patrick (Christina) Argent and Alisa (Josh) Kirkbride; three great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, McKenna and Abigail “Abby"; and a sibling: Jerry Jernigan of Poplar Bluff.
She was preceded in death by a son: Robert Nathan Argent; and two siblings: Ruben Goatcher and Debbie Stokes.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Park View Baptist Church, 1531 Hillcrest Drive, in De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the church, officiated by Mike Blank, Christopher Argent and Patrick Argent. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Park View Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
