Gail Fern Hays, 69, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Festus, died Aug. 16, 2018, in Phoenix. Mrs. Hays worked in the deli department at grocery store and enjoyed playing bingo. Born April 23, 1949, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Bethel Fern (Cook) Litton and the late George Litton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years: Benny Hays.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children: Angie Robbins of Phoenix, Charles Lee Jr. of Festus and Marty (Ginna) Hays of Phoenix; four siblings: Martin (Diane) Litton of Festus, Susan Hedrick of Festus, Dorothy (Richard) Lea of Mehlville and Nancy Garn of St. Louis; nine grandchildren: Justin Jones of Fenton, Christopher Robbins of Byrnes Mill, Thomas Robbins of St. Louis, Charles Lee III of De Soto, Hayden Lee of Springfield, Connor Lee of Springfield, Tucker Lee of Springfield, Tucker Lee of Springfield, Kayden Hays of Phoenix and Khallen Hays of Phoenix; three great-grandchildren: Blaise Jones of Fenton, Michael Robbins of Byrnes Mill and Summer Lynn Robbins of St. Louis; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Samuel and Edith Litton and Thomas and Daisy Cook.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
