Frank Louis Spatafora, 75, of Festus died Jan. 12, 2023, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Mr. Spatafora was a Teamster and worked as a truck driver for Bancroft. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, spending eight weeks at Fort Ord, Calif., 16 weeks in hand-picked Advanced Individual Training at Fort Polk, La., then and time overseas with the Charlie Company in the Republic of South Vietnam. Although asked to be a drill instructor, he went to Fort Knox, Ky. as an instructor and qualified expert for the 360 Machine Gun. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, fishing, hunting, archery, watching westerns, getting a sandwich and chocolate shake, and spending time with his family and pets. Born July 25, 1947, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Samuel and Pearl Spatafora. He was preceded in death by his wife: Rita Spatafora.
He is survived by two daughters: Dana Williams of Farmington and Krista (Heath) Harris of Barnhart; two brothers: Joe Spatafora and Michael (Kris) Spatafora, both of Wentzville; four sisters: Linda (Michael) Dosier of Texas, Donna Spatafora of North Carolina, Gina (Jeffrey) Hill of Eldon and Tina (John) Logue of St. Charles; a brother-in-law: Ken Morris of Lake of the Ozarks; seven grandchildren: Emily, Lexi, Ryan, Madi, Abbi, Kaily and Caleb; two great-grandchildren: Kailer and Kaysen; his lifelong friend: Ronnie Conner; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Lisa (Jeffrey) Coval and Toni Spatafora; a brother: Johnny Spatafora; four sisters: Sandra (Charlie) Rogenhofer, Nikki Morris, Patricia Spatafora and Patrina Spatafora; one great-grandchild: Lacen; and his parents-in-law: Charles “Boots” and Joyce Germain.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
