Etsuko K. “Bobbie” Prater, 85, of De Soto died Aug. 6, 2017, at Hillcrest Nursing Center in De Soto. Ms. Prater was a stitcher at the De Soto Shoe Factory and enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for her birds. Born March 15, 1934, in Kanagawa, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Kikuji Kaneko and Kimie Honma.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Mike Rose. Memorials may be made to the Animal Protection Association, 1705 S. Hanley Road, St. Louis, 63144. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
