Ellen Jane Carroll, 74, of Hillsboro died June 30, 2017. Mrs. Carroll had a giving and friendly personality, and was a spiritual, proud and patriotic woman. Born Aug. 5, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Dorothy M. (Bowlin) Hawks.
She is survived by her husband: Hoiet L. Carroll of Hillsboro; two children: Robin L. (Doug) Talbott and Michael D. (Robyn) Wegner; four grandchildren: Jenny L. Meers, Ashley R. Wegner, Taylor M. Wegner and Jack S. Talbott; three great-grandchildren: Aubrey L. Meers, Charles R. Meers and Savannah R. Fox; and many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by a sister: Janet Somers; and a brother: Michael A. Hawks.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 201 W. Adams, in Kirkwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
