Eileen A. (Witte) Svoboda, 73, of Eureka died June 23, 2019, in Creve Coeur. Mrs. Svoboda was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Eureka Fire Protection District. She further gave back to the community by volunteering with the Eureka Historical Society. Born Aug. 29, 1945, in Omaha, Neb., she was the dqaughter of the late Gerald and Ina Marie (Peterson) Witte. She was preceded in death by her husband: Fredrick J. Svoboda, whom she married April 22, 1965, in Omaha.
She is survived by five children and stepchildren: Lori Patterson of Eureka, Fredrick J. Svoboda II of St. Louis, Paul (Melanie) Svoboda of Eureka, J. Joseph (Patti) Svoboda of Omaha and Suzanne (Scott) Klingemann of Gretna, Neb.; 12 grandchildren: Lacey, Breena, Cassie, Declan, Bryan, Rachel, Anthony “A.J.”, Robbie (Lindsey), Nick, Tricia (Adam), Ben (Ashley) and Collin (Chrissy); four great-grandchildren, Addy, Tatum, Maci and John; many other relatives and friends; and her dogs: Leroy, Sherman and Dozer.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: F. Jon Svoboda III; and a sister-in-law: Carol Svoboda.
According to Mrs. Svoboda’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorials may be made to Evelyn’s House, 1000 N. Mason Road, Creve Coeur, 63141. Arrangements were under the direction of Midlawn Funeral Home in Union.
