Ed Bradford, 84, of Festus died June 24, 2022, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Bradford had owned and operated Bradford Excavating and Paving. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Amvets Post 48. He was activated from the Missouri National Guard into the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Born April 3, 1938, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Theodore and Blanch Bradford and the stepson of the late Bernice Bradford. He was preceded in death by his wife: Thelma J. (nee Maloney) Bradford
He is survived by three children: Tammy (the late Terry) Pruneau of De Soto, Gail (Brad) Dennis of De Soto and Mike (Connie) Bradford of Hillsboro; a sister: Olive (Bud) Taylor of Herculaneum; a brother: Theodore “Buck” (Judy) Bradford of Festus; a half sister: Cathy Bradford of Festus; a half brother: Teddy (Mary Jo) Bradford of Festus; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial is in the Bradford Family Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
