Dorothy Jean Lassa, 82, of Hillsboro died March 17, 2022, in Hillsboro. Mrs. Lassa worked as a cancer registrar for the state of Ohio. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro and enjoyed singing, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Born Nov. 10, 1939, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Stella (Binko) Santee.
She is survived by her husband: Art Lassa of Hillsboro; a son: Denny (Stacy) Lassa of Fenton; two daughters: Sherry (Dan) Claxton of Ballwin and Donna (Roman) Schepis of Plantation, Fla.; five grandchildren: Lauren, Nick, Jack, Adam and Kristen; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a son: Mike Lassa.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third St., in Hillsboro, officiated by Father Weber. Burial will take place at a later date in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, 63132. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
