Doris June Lewis Mahn, 94, of De Soto died March 29, 2019. Mrs. Mahn was a homemaker and a distributor for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She was a member of the Lions Club, the De Soto Historical Society and Trinity Episcopal Church in De Soto. She was an important maternal figure to several generations of children, teaching them values like frugality and the joy of simple pleasures. Born Feb. 7, 1925, in Doyle, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Zenobia (Norris) and Jasper Clyde Vance.

She is survived by a son: Roy Lee (Carol) Lewis Jr. of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter: Sandra (Everett Edward) Lewis Dahl of Larkspur, Colo.; a brother: Harold M. Vance of Crystal City; 12 grandchildren: Sarah (Marcus) Tava of Colorado, Wendy (Lane) Jones of Texas, Belinda (Chris) Davis of California, Ben Lewis of California, Gregory Dahl of Washington, Eric (Denise) Dahl of Ohio, Sarah Gonzalez of Massachusetts, Barton (Julie) Dahl of Colorado, Lisa (Michael Dietrich) Mahn-Donnell of De Soto, Jamie (Tommy C.) Mahn of De Soto, Jennifer (Neil) Goff of Georgia and Nathaniel (Victoria Huskey) Mahn of De Soto; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by two husbands: Roy Lee Lewis Sr. and Edward James Mahn Sr.; two sons: Edward Mahn Jr. and Daniel John Mahn III; four brothers: Jasper Clyde Vance Jr., Charles Edward Vance, Donald Lee Vance and Larry Daniel Vance Sr.; and three sisters: Evelyn Jeanne (Vance) Vaughn, Marilyn (Vance) Hogenmiller and JoAnn (Vance) Baker.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Gary Nowlin. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 202 N. Miller St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
