Donna Marie Schweitzer, 71, of La Vernia, Texas, died July 25, 2021, in La Vernia, Texas. Mrs. Schweitzer enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her children and grandchildren. Born Feb. 28, 1950, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Herman D. and Shirley M. Swallow.

She is survived by three children: Jody (Carmen) Schweitzer of Ashland, Dawn (Jim) Dailey of Sutherland Springs, Texas and Jennifer Devinney of La Vernia, Texas; bonus daughter: Beth Giles of La Vernia, Texas; a sibling: Patricia Titus of Arnold; nine grandchildren: Makenzie Devinney of Suffolk, Va., Kody (Gracie) Devinney of La Vernia, Texas, Skyler Devinney of La Vernia, Texas, Christopher (Halley) Dailey of San Antonio, Texas, Nathan Dailey of Houston, Texas, Hope Schweitzer of Ashland, Noelle Schweitzer of Ashland, Kain Hedden of Fort Mitchell, Ala., and Taylor Schweitzer of Washington, Mo.; eight bonus grandchildren: Maggie Titus of Stockdale, Texas, Scott Titus of Arnold, Khloe Schweitzer of Ashland, Kinley Hoskins of Ashland, Gavin Seward of Ashland, Lillian Seward of Ashland, Kaylynn Clayton of Springfield and Skeyla (Jeron) Clayton of Virginia Beach, Va.; three great-grandchildren: Finn Marcus Dailey of San Antonio, Texas, Liam Hedden of Fort Mitchel, Ala., and Jedyn Blandon-Haskins of Virginia Beach, Va.; and many other family members and friends, including John (Alana) Lawson Sr. of Desloge, Mendi Hill and John Lawson Jr.

She was preceded in death by two siblings: Sonny Swallow and Henry Swallow; and a grandson: Marcus Alan Dailey.

Visitation will be at 11:15 a.m. until the services at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 14) at Jefferson Memorial VFW Recreation Complex Post 3777, 900 VFW Drive, in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Davis of First Baptist Church of Nixon, Texas.
