Donald L. Reimler, Sr., 78, De Soto

Donald L. Reimler Sr., 78, of De Soto died April 26, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Reimler worked as a coffee roaster and retired as a machine mechanic for All-Die Tool and Die. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW Post 1831 in De Soto and the Teamsters Union. Born March 26, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Eleanor H. (Plant) and Arthur F. Reimler Sr.

He is survived by his wife: Victoria (Wald) Reimler of De Soto, whom he married June 26, 1965, in El Monte, Calif.

He also is survived by two children: Lisa (Trey) Eckhert of Arnold and Douglas Reimler of Festus; a daughter-in-law: Tina Reimler of Imperial; two siblings: Arthur (Becky) Reimler Jr. of Otto and Glenn (Gaylene) Reimler of Imperial; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Jessica, Ashley, Sonja, Toby, Ty and Douglas; and seven great-grandchildren: Weston, Kamden, Hunter, Avery, Ava, Skyla and Grayson.

He was preceded in death by one son: Donald Reimler Jr.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Deacon Terry Baldwin. Funeral procession will leave at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, to the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks for a committal service at 11 a.m. with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Adopt-an-Angel program at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, the Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs or the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead funeral home.
