Donald F. Pejakovich, 81, of Arnold died April 24, 2019, at his home. Mr. Pejakovich’s family ran a filling station and convenience store in East St. Louis. He joined the U.S. Navy soon after his 1955 graduation from Collinsville High School. He attended Ranken College before working at Hussmann Refrigeration, Moog Automotive and A.O. Smith and eventually owning his own heating and cooling business. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing, hunting, woodworking, building motors and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Born Nov. 5, 1937, in Caseyville, Ill., he was the son of Mary Rokita and Anthony “Tony” Pejakovich.
He is survived by his wife: Irene Pejakovich; a daughter-in-law: Julie Pejakovich; two sons: Forrest (Robin) and Stanley (Beth) Moran; four grandsons: Christopher and Lucas Pejakovich and Ben and Shaun (Darla) Moran; five granddaughters: Candice (Zack), Christina, Nicki and Erin Moran and Maggie Ribaudo; and two great-grandsons: Brody and Brendan Moran.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Charles; and a son: Roger Pejakovich.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Heiligtag Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Funeral service will be from 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
