Darrell E. Dickens, 52, Imperial

Darrell E. Dickens, 52, of Imperial died July 9, 2022, in Imperial. Mr. Dickens served in the U.S. Army and was a union painter. He was a Christian. He loved animals. Born March 20, 1970, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital (now Mercy Hospital Jefferson) in Crystal City, he was the son of Linda Moore and Bill E. Dickens.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of eight years: Dawn Kemp Dickens of Imperial; a son: Dylan E. Dickens of Scott City; two stepdaughters: Lauren Carver and Bailey Rodgers; two sisters: Sandy (Pat) Dickens Munro and Sharon (Mike) Dickens Conley; three grandchildren: Payton, Lincoln and Oakley; two nephews: Brock (Laurabeth) Conley and Matthew Logsdon; two nieces: Bridget Conley and Ashley (Mitchell) Cole; and six great-nieces and great-nephews, plus another one on the way.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice, but Mr. Dickens’ favorites were Jefferson County Animal Control and Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
