Cheryl Grace (Courtois) Pappas, 71, Festus

Cheryl Grace (Courtois) Pappas, 71, of Festus died June 14, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Pappas was a registered nurse who worked at various hospitals and home health agencies and retired from the Missouri Division of Health and Senior Services as a home health and hospice investigator/surveyor. Born Aug. 25, 1950, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Betty (Dugan) of Festus and the late Vincent Courtois.

She is survived by her husband: Joseph “Joe” Pappas of Festus; three children: Michael (Nicole) Dutton of St. Louis, Megan (Kurt) Mahue of Hillsboro and Darren (Julie) Pappas of Mexico, Mo; seven grandchildren: Andrew and Alayna Dutton, Scott and Addison Hartenberger, Abigail Mahue, and Baylor and Emerson Pappas; a brother: Michael (Etta) Courtois of Festus; a sister-in-law: Nancy (Dan) McClain of Alton, Ill.; longtime friends: Earline and A.J. Kohler and David and Mary Mahue; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Crystal Oaks Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
