Missey, Charles

Charles Joseph Missey, 81, of De Soto died Nov. 25, 2017, at his home. Mr. Missey was the owner and operator of Missey Pumbing in De Soto and a member of Plumbers Local 562. He also worked for several plumbing companies in De Soto and the St. Louis area. Born April 2, 1936, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Nora Mary (Rulo) and Charles Joseph Missey. He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy I. (Bradford) Missey.

He is survived by four children: Laura (William A. “Bill”) Duffner, Christel “Chrissy” (Jason Barbey) Hedrick, Charles Edward “Eddie” Missey and Joe (Jenny) Missey, all of De Soto; two brothers: William (Ella) Rulo of Otto and David Missey of De Soto; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Rosemary Dobbs; and three brothers: Ralph Missey, Paul Missey and Patrick Missey.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
