Charles James “CJ” Goodwin, 32, of Hillsboro died July 16, 2020. Mr. Goodwin was a licensed minister. He grew up in the church and began at an early age ministering to folks at the Mary Ryder Home on Sunday afternoon services. He continued his ministry into adulthood, serving at Bayless Baptist Church and later at First Baptist Church in Horine, where he served alongside his father, Pastor Chris Goodwin, as children’s director and youth minister. He also was employed with the Pevely 66 service station.
He is survived by his parents, his wife, two sons, several siblings, and a number of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for noon Saturday, Aug. 15, at Charter Baptist Church, 15267 Hwy. TT, in southern Jefferson County.
