Carole Ann Thornton, 74, of Imperial died Aug. 21, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Thornton, known as “Momma Hugs-a-lot,” was the daughter of the late Edwin and Dolly Hummelsheim. She was preceded by her husband: Robert Thornton Sr.
She is survived by three children: Robert Donald (Rose Ann) Thornton Jr. of Imperial, Cheryl (fiancé Mark) Johnston of Imperial and Christine (Randy) Pour of Rockaway Beach, Ore.; nine grandchildren: Jacob, Daniel, Lindsay, Tim, Joel, Danielle, Joshua, Kyle and Christopher; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Fey Funeral Home, 4100 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home. Burial is in the Lakewood Park Cemetery in Affton. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Siteman Cancer Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Fey Funeral Home.
