Bonnie Rae Rhodes, 82, of Crystal City died Oct. 8, 2018, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center. Mrs. Rhodes was an operating room secretary for 32 years at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. Born Feb. 29, 1936, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Elise (Miller) and Audrey King. She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Lee “Dusty” Rhodes.
She is survived by a daughter: Tracy (Brent) Akins of Festus; a son: Anthony “Tony” (Sue) Rhodes of Arnold; seven grandchildren: Jake Akins, Jill Akins, Chris Akins, Leslie Akins, Erin Rhodes, Nichole Rhodes and Michael Bleitner; and five great-grandchildren: Donovan Akins, Trevor Akins, Savannah Winston, Cadence Rhodes and Arianna Rhodes.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Joyce Ann (the late Robert) Pollack and Wilma Hindman.
A memorial gathering is at 10 a.m. and a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Sacred Heart Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
