Anna Lee (Bell) Forshee, 95, of Arnold, formerly of Sligo, died May 27, 2022, at Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis. Mrs. Forshee grew up in Sligo and moved to St. Louis at age 16. She worked at General Grocery in St. Louis and then as a pastry chef at the Fox School District, from where she later retired. She was a Christian and enjoyed traveling, quilting, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family. Born Jan. 4, 1927, in Dillard, she was the daughter of the late William “Willie” Wesley Bell and Zelma Izeta (Anderson) Bell. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Albert Lawrence and Finis Forshee.
She is survived by two sons: Donald (Lillie) Forshee of Arnold and Ronald (Diane) Forshee of Festus; four grandchildren: Jeff (Norma) Turnbough and Angela Turnbough, both of Cherryville, Sandra (Patrick) Costello of St. Louis and Laura (Matt) Asinger of Pevely; eight great-grandchildren: Justin (Lacey)Turnbough, Dalton (Wendy) Turnbough, Alicia Spycher, Ryan (Rayauna) Zimmer, Audrey Forshee, Maddie Kaltmeyer, Jack Asinger and Anna Asinger; five great-great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Jayden, Blake, Carlee and Paisley Turnbough; five great-great-great-grandchildren: Trey Turnbough, Bently Spycher, Donald McCallum, Jacob McCallum and Eliana Zimmer; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Judith “Alberta” (Donald) Lawrence Turnbough; nine siblings: Elmer Bell, Dema (Quinton) Laney, Earl Bell, Dormalee “Berniece” Conaway, Bertha “Anna” Forshee, Louis “Louie” Bell, Harold Bell, Goldie “Virginia” Shockley and Eva “Evie” Huskey; a sister-in-law: June (Bill) Farmer; two great-great-grandsons: Jeremy Lee Turnbough and Mark Albert Brown; two great-great-great-grandchildren: Riley Lee Zimmer and Carson Lee Zimmer; and several nieces and nephews.
Private burial was held in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis County and Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville.
