Amanda Leigh (Hawkins) Johnston, 43, of Arnold died Dec. 25, 2022, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Ms. Johnston was a graduate of Fox High School and attended Jefferson College and the University of Missouri. She was a member of Mehlville Baptist Church. Born May 11, 1979, in El Paso, Texas, she was the daughter of Allan Dale and Kathy (Gillespie) Hawkins of Arnold.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two children: Emerald Kate Johnston and Maxwell Alexander Johnston of Arnold; a brother: Allan Dale Hawkins II of Columbia, Ill.; and the Galayda family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a cousin: Frank Bradford Bush.
Ms. Johnston chose to be cremated. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Friday, Dec. 30, at Panther Fork Baptist Church in Texico, Ill., officiated by the Rev. Bruce Hawkins. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Panther Fork Cemetery, c/o Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, IL 62830.
