Almeda Kay Shelton, 80, of House Springs died July 9, 2021, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mrs. Shelton was retired. She enjoyed her family, country music, dancing, grocery shopping, Little Debbie doughnuts and spending time with friends at her favorite pub. Born Sept. 22, 1940, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Margaret McDaniel and James Simpson.

She is survived by four children: Tami Glass of House Springs, John Craig (Kathy) Shelton of Cedar Hill, Derrall (Zelda) Shelton of Sullivan and Gerrell (Teresa) Shelton of Dittmer; seven siblings; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a twin sister: Alveda Fay Simpson; and a grandson: Steven Fauller.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Big River VFW, 1 Lynn Lane, Cedar Hill.
