Alberta Lawson, 79, of De Soto died June 22, 2023, at Stonebridge Nursing Facility in De Soto. Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker. Born Nov. 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Eunice Dora (Wilkerson) Dufrenne and Thomas Shepherd.
She is survived by three children: Veronica Keelin of De Soto, Valerie McAbee of De Soto and Joe Schmidt of Poplar Bluff; six siblings: Laura German of Fenton and Pam, Mike, Tyrone, Jeff and Dathan Shepherd, all of St. Louis; six grandchildren: Valerie, Brandon and Ashley French, Alexis and Alisa McAbee and Mandi Barber; and a great-grandson: Jeremiah Strickland.
She was preceded in death by three children: Merita, Kevin and Tim Schmidt; and four siblings: Tom, Terry, Eugene and Rita Shepherd.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 27, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, immediately followed by funeral services officiated by Bob Thebeau. Burial will be at Montgomery Chapel Cemetery in Silva. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
