With Halloween right around the corner – and trunk-or-treat events on almost every corner starting next weekend – get into the spirit without getting your fright on with by visiting the annual Historic Ghost Walk at the Governor Fletcher House in Hillsboro.

The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. today (Oct. 13) at the house at the corner of Elm and Hwy. BB in Hillsboro. Visitors will take a step back in time and meet characters from the 1800s while visiting the Fletcher House and the Huskey log cabin.

Tours start at dusk and run every 15 minutes. Admission is $4 for adults; $2 for children ages 6-12; and free for children under 5.

Kids are invited to decorate a mini pumpkin for $1. There will be free hot cocoa and hot apple cider. Food, including stew, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and nachos and cheese, will be available for purchase.

There will also be a Civil War encampment with re-enactors and a bonfire.

For information, call 636-789-4920.

All proceeds benefit the Fletcher House Foundation to aid in the upkeep of the property and homes.
