Viviano’s Festa Italiano in Fenton has moved, but not very far.
The grocery, cafe and deli moved to 55 Fenton Plaza in June. It operated for 18 years out of a nearby space in the same retail complex, at 62 Fenton Plaza, but closed up shop there in April, which allowed Aldi to expand into the old space, said Michael Viviano, co-owner of the Viviano business.
He said his old location in the Fenton Plaza had 5,500 square feet and the new one has 7,200 square feet, so there was room to expand.
The business still has a grocery section, cafe and deli but has added a bar, banquet rooms and catering, Viviano said.
“It worked out perfectly,” he said. “Now we have the bar, we have banquet rooms, we have more space to do some more things.
“Having the banquet rooms is a big plus for all the baby showers, birthday parties and anniversaries.”
Viviano said Aldi was looking to expand, so his business agreed to move out of the space to make way for that store.
Aldi is set to close on Sept. 11 so the remodeling work can be completed, and the store is expected to reopen later this fall.
Viviano said his business previously offered lunch but now serves dinner as well.
“Now we have a dinner menu, which adds a great selection of steak, seafood, chicken dishes, bruschetta,” Viviano said. “We’ve got burgers now, too.”
Viviano said gelato has also been added to the menu.
He said Viviano’s will still serve many of its fan-favorite pastas.
“Our amazing tortellini is still one of the most popular pastas that we carry,” he said.
The grocery section is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
