In light of Gov. Kehoe's proclamation of Oct. 4 as Fire Service Memorial Day in Missouri, Missouri's fire service will hold memorial services at the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri in Kingdom City this weekend, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

A candlelight vigil will be held in honor of all Missouri firefighters who have died serving their communities at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3.

A memorial service for five Missouri firefighters that have recently died in the line of duty, led by Missouri Department of Public safety Director Troy Murdock, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, on Oct. 4. Their names have been added to the memorial wall commemorating Missouri firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Sunday's ceremony will also remember other Missouri firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty.

The five fallen firefighters to be honored are:

  • Captain Andrew Stephen Donner, 36, Fort Osage, died Aug. 27, 2019
  • Larry Roland Duncan, 64, Missouri Task Force 1, died Jan. 15, 2025

  • Lee Michael Krauss, 52, St. Louis, died July 1, 2025
  • Jackson Montgomery Warren, 27, Butler County, died March 6, 2026

Both events are located at the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri, 5550 Dunn Dr., if weather permits. In the case of inclement weather, the services will be moved to Auxvasse Elementary School, located at 650 E. Harrison St.
