The Schenk Road bridge on Old Hwy. 21 over Hwy. 21 in Otto will close for repairs until late September, the Missouri Department of Transportation recently announced.
The closure begins at 8 a.m. Monday, July 8. Both the Schenk Road bridge and Schenk Road leading to the bridge will close to traffic during the bridge repair project, the department said in a written statement.
Motorists will be allowed to exit Hwy. 21 at Schenk Road, but all traffic must make right turns and no traffic will be allowed to cross the bridge during the construction work.
MoDOT advises all drivers to use the Hwy. M exit to the north or the Old Hwy. 21 Goldman exit to the south to reach Old Hwy. 21 during the Schenk Road bridge closure.
MoDOT is using message boards to inform traffic of the closure.
