Portions of Hwy. 67 near I-55 in the Festus area will be closed overnight from Tuesday, June 9, through Saturday, June 13, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced today, June 8.
Weather permitting, crews will remill and resurface stretches of Hwy. 67. Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. but work will alternate each night from northbound to southbound lanes.
The northbound Hwy. 67 closures are scheduled to start the nights of Tuesday, June 9, and Thursday, June 11, with the roads reopening the next mornings; the southbound Hwy. 67 closures are scheduled to start the nights of Wednesday, June 10, and Friday, June 12, with the road reopening the next mornings.
During the northbound Hwy. 67 closure, northbound Hwy. 67 traffic will be detoured to southbound I-55 to proceed to exit 170, then continue on northbound I-55; southbound I-55 traffic traveling to northbound Hwy. 67 will be detoured to Hwy. A exit 175, where drivers will travel eastbound to Hwy. 61-67.
During the southbound Hwy. 67 closure, southbound Hwy. 67 traffic will be detoured to northbound I-55 to the Hwy. A exit 175, where drivers will proceed to enter onto to southbound I-55 to reach southbound Hwy. 67; northbound I-55 traffic traveling to southbound Hwy. 67 will be detoured to Hwy. A exit 175, where drivers will use Hwy. A to enter southbound I-55 to reach southbound Hwy. 67.
All detours will be signed.
The remilling and resurfacing work is part of an estimated $246 million I-55 Corridor Improvements project that runs from just north of Pevely south to just south of Festus.
