Norvel Robert “Bobby” Nelson III
The remains of a Festus native who went missing in January 2012 have been found in northern Washington County. The body of Norvel Robert “Bobby” Nelson III was found on private property, Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen said.
Nelson was 37 when he was last seen in the Mineral Point area before his disappearance more than 10 years ago. Authorities reported there were rumors of foul play, but they had not been able to prove anything at that time.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office discovered Nelson’s remains Saturday, March 5. The body was identified Thursday, March 10.
When Nelson disappeared, his mother said he had lived in Jefferson County but he also spent time in St. Louis.
