A woman allegedly stole money from the First Baptist Church of Arnold Firm Foundations daycare program for the past four years, the church told parents in a letter Monday, May 9.
The letter, from early education administrator Shelly Straher, said the woman was released from her job and confessed to stealing an “extensive amount of cash from the daycare operation over a four-year period of time.”
The letter said the former employee accepted full responsibility and agrees with the church’s decision to fire her.
The letter did not say how much money was stolen from the program.
Senior associate pastor Brad East said the situation is a personal matter and will remain private. He would not say if the church had reported the alleged theft to a law enforcement agency.
The daycare is located at the church, 2012 Missouri State Road, in Arnold.
