A 53-year-old Eureka woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she drove to the Police Station to pick up a man who had been arrested. The man had been arrested due to an altercation he had with the woman at home earlier in the morning, police reported.

The woman arrived at the Police Station at about 1:40 a.m. Jan. 2, and she approached an officer. She allegedly told the officer she was there to pick up her husband, the report said.

The woman allegedly told the officer she and the man had been drinking alcohol before the altercation. The woman allegedly appeared intoxicated, and she allegedly told the officer she was fine to drive because she had not been drinking for a while, according to the report.

The woman allegedly failed a preliminary breath test, and she was arrested. In the Police Station, the woman allegedly registered a .22 percent blood-alcohol content, the report said. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.

The woman was booked, and she and the man were released to a sober driver, according to the report.

The woman was issued a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged DWI, Lt. Michael Tapp said.
