The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of more than $12,000 worth of welding equipment from a Fenton-area construction equipment supply company. The equipment was stolen from trailers outside the Erb Equipment Co., 200 Erb Industrial Drive, in unincorporated Fenton, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

A company employee told deputies that between July 2 and July 6, someone cut locks off three trailers at the business and stole the equipment. Some welding equipment was found scattered along a path in the northeast corner of the construction company’s property and led to the Polo Downs Apartment complex in St. Louis County, the report said.

As of July 19, the stolen equipment had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
