About $4,000 in tools were stolen from a truck while it was parked in the 800 block of South Second Street in Festus. The theft happened overnight between Aug. 30 and Aug. 31, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.
The victim, a 38-year-old man, said the truck, a 1997 Nissan, was locked, Lewis said.
He said it is not known how the culprit got into the truck.
“There doesn’t appear to be any damage to the truck,” Lewis said.
As of Sept. 1, the stolen tools had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, he said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
