Tyler Wellen, 37, of High Ridge has been charged for allegedly attacking a woman. He threw the woman onto a couch and punched and bit her, according to court documents.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Sept. 8 charged Wellen with third-degree domestic assault, a class E felony punishable by up to four years in prison. He was released from the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro on Sept. 19 after posting a $5,000 bond, court records said.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Wellen and the woman started arguing at about 7 p.m. Aug. 31, and he picked her up and threw her onto a couch. He then allegedly hit the woman numerous times and bit her face and arm.
The woman was able to get away and run to a bedroom. However, Wellen followed her and allegedly pinned her to a bed and hit and slapped the woman, the report said.
