Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are trying to identify two men who allegedly stole two cartons of cigarettes from the MotoMart gas station, 5695 Fox Creek Road. The two cartons were worth $92.67, police reported.

Surveillance video showed the men came to the store in a maroon Chevrolet Suburban at about 10:40 p.m. Feb. 3. The SUV did not have license plates, the report said.

The men entered the store and brought several items to the cashiers’ counter, where they also asked for two cartons of cigarettes. When an employee requested identification to buy the cigarettes, one of the men left the store, got into the SUV and moved it near the exit, according to the report.

The man who remained in the store, grabbed the cigarette cartons and ran out of the store. He got in the SUV, which left the parking lot, the report said.

As of Feb. 19, the cigarettes had not been recovered, and the two men had not been identified, Lt. Brett Grittini said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
