St. Louis County Police are investigating a probable murder-suicide after two men were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds outside a Wildwood bar. The men are believed to have been involved in an altercation in the parking lot before the shooting, police reported.
Officers were called at about 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, to Larry’s Tavern, 16833 Manchester Road, in the Grover neighborhood east of Hwy. 109 after a reported shooting. Police found the two men who apparently had been shot there, and they were pronounced dead, the report said.
Police have not released the men’s identities, and the investigation is ongoing. At this time, investigators believe that after the men were involved in a dispute outside the bar, one man shot the other before shooting himself, police reported.
Police have been called to the tavern four times this year for intoxicated people, sick cases and disturbances, Sgt. Tracy Panus said.
She also said the last homicide in Wildwood was on Feb. 24, 2021, in the 1100 block of Eagle Creek Road. St. Louis County Police reported there were no homicides in Wildwood in 2020.
