Arnold Police are seeking charges against a 34-year-old Hillsboro man suspected of stealing tools from the Lowe’s store, 920 Arnold Commons Drive, and are searching for a 40-year-old St. Louis man also suspected in the theft. The men are suspected of working together to steal $781.96 worth of tools, police reported.
A store employee told police the two men were seen loading tools into a shopping cart at about 4:45 p.m. Jan. 25. The men then left through the store’s lumber department, the report said.
Store employees identified the two men, and the Hillsboro man was arrested Jan. 27 in St. Louis County, where he was wanted in a separate incident. Arnold Police interviewed the Hillsboro man following his arrest, and then he was released pending application for warrants, Christopher said.
He said investigators had not located the other man allegedly involved in the theft as of Feb. 2. Anyone with information about the incident or the man’s location is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
