Two people died Tuesday night, Sept. 13, following a wrong-way collision on I-55 near Hwy. 141 in Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. when a vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes and struck a northbound vehicle head-on near Hwy. 141, Cpl. Dallas Thompson said.
Thompson said both vehicles caught fire, and both drivers died. The drivers were the only people in the vehicles, he added.
The Highway Patrol will release more information about the accident after one of the drivers is identified and both the drivers’ families are contacted, Thompson said.
