A trailer stolen from outside a home in the 900 block of Patricia Lane in the Pevely area was later recovered and taken to a nearby tow yard, where it was identified several days later.
The victim said the trailer had been parked in a driveway outside the home, and she had last seen it there on March 18, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On March 22, a deputy was called to the 9000 block of Lone Oak Drive in Pevely about an abandoned trailer found there, but the vehicle identification plate was missing, so the trailer couldn’t be identified and was taken to a Pevely-area tow yard, said Grant Bissell, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
On March 26, a detective went to the tow yard to attempt to identify the trailer. The detective contacted the victim from the Patricia Lane theft and while speaking to her, determined it was the woman’s trailer, which was valued at $5,000, the report said.
Bissell said two of the trailer’s tires were damaged.
He said March 29 that no arrests had been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
