Investigators search a Mazda SUV that was driven this morning to Festus City Hall and Police Station on Tuesday morning by a woman who allegedly told officers she killed two of her children.

Eureka Police are investigating the theft of two tools from a storage unit at iStorage, 306 W. Fourth St. Together, the tools, a DeWalt drill and DeWalt flooring nailer, were worth about $500, police reported.

The theft occurred overnight between Jan. 29 and Jan. 31, when someone apparently broke a lock off a storage unit. The theft was reported at about 5 p.m. Feb. 1, the report said.

As of Feb. 9, neither of the tools had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
