The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of tools from a home in the 1300 block of Pleasant Drive west of Arnold. It appears the back door of the home had been forced open the day before the theft was reported, authorities said.

A man working on the home called police on March 31 when he discovered his tools and other people’s tools were missing from the home. He said the day before, he noticed the back door had been forced open, but he did not believe anything was stolen from the home, the report said.

The man said after he started moving things around the house, he notice the missing tools. He said he had been at the home on March 23, and nothing had been stolen, and he said other workers were at the home on March 26 and the home had not been tampered with at that time, according to the report.
