Three men were arrested for alleged possession of drugs after an officer spotted them sitting in a car parked outside a business that had been closed for at least five hours. The incident happened about 11:15 p.m. Jan. 23 outside the National Rent to Own, 896 Arnold Commons Drive, Arnold Police reported.
An officer spotted the men inside a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier parked at the business and allegedly found three silver spoons with white residue on them in a compartment on the driver’s-side door.
A 53-year-old High Ridge man was sitting in the driver’s seat and allegedly was found with a bottle filled with a variety of pills, as well as a clear, glass smoking pipe with black residue on it, the report said.
A 38-year-old man and 26-year-old man, both of Arnold, also were in the car, and they were wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants. All three men were arrested and transported to the Police Station, Arnold Police Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
The High Ridge man was booked and later released pending application for warrants. Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Wooldridge said.
The 38-year-old, who was wanted for misdemeanor driving while under the influence, and the 26-year-old, who was wanted for resisting arrest, were held for the Sheriff’s Office, Wooldridge said.
