It appears someone tried to steal an SUV from outside the Spectrum Store, 884 Arnold Commons Drive, and in the process damaged the 2012 Kia Sportage. However, nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle, Arnold Police reported.
The victim, a 57-year-old Arnold woman who owns the SUV and works at the business, said the incident happened between about 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Oct. 31, when someone shattered the passenger-side window on the SUV and broke the steering column. The cost to repair the damage was estimated at about $3,200, the report said.
As of Nov. 7, no suspects had been identified, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
